Meredeth is a natural at this work. She has an uncanny ability of getting to know you quickly and using that information to find a style that is yours, not hers. She then does a superb job of finding pieces to round out your closet, help you update your image, and that are fun to wear. I normally hate to shop, but I actually enjoy it when I'm with her. - Y.M.
I would like to thank you for the effort you put into making sense of my wardrobe; as we discussed, I have been acquiring clothes haphazardly, and I was having difficulty deciding which pieces worked worked together, and had ended up looking scattered instead of casual. I hadn’t noticed how worn my clothing had become simply because I had so much I never really looked at any of it.
In the last few weeks it’s been pretty simple to get dressed, and I have been better dressed than previously without much effort, which is really the point. I feel more composed while spending less time digging through my closet for clothing.

Thank you so much for helping me work through my closet clutter! As you know, I transitioned from the full-time working world to a full-time mom two years ago, but my clothes never made a proper transition. It was very liberating to finally weed out those out-of-date and unworn items and make room for some fun, stylish clothes that make me feel good about myself. It was also a real eye-opener to learn how to wear clothes I already own, in a new way that meshes with my newly discovered “style.” I also learned that buying 3 or 4 of the same item in different colors is no way to boost a wardrobe – it’s just boring! I love my new accessories and shoes, and I really hope to maintain this new outlook as time goes on, and not hold on to old clothes just in case I might wear them “some day.”
Although I got rid of about half of my clothes, I feel like I have twice as much to wear now! Amazing! My friends are always complimenting me on my new look now, and my husband thinks I look sexy!

The closet consultation was, well frankly, a little like going to the dentist: invasive but vital. I really appreciate the time you took to help me analyze each and every article of clothing in my closet. You helped me free myself of many inappropriate (‘but it was from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!’) purchases, tags still on and all!. Just because it is green, wool and on sale doesn’t make it a good choice. I had no idea I was hanging onto so many things I would never wear! Four huge bags went to the women’s shelter and I don’t miss a single item.
Most importantly, you saw my wardrobe in a fresh and creative light. I wear many of the combinations you put together and feel great. It took a little while to get comfortable not wearing so many loose boxy layers, but you were right: People at school saying, ‘you look great! Did you lose weight?’ certainly felt nice.
It was so wonderful of you to email me the day after the closet consultation with suggestions and website links to where to find some of the things we discussed. You really listened to me and had great insight not only about what to do to achieve the look I was after but where to go to find it!
The shopping excursion to University Village was not only fun, but also productive and educational. I already knew you are gifted with style and color but your knowledge of fabric and quality construction is impressive. You are really good at zeroing in on what is wrong (or right) about a potential choice. What I came away with that day went straight into high rotation, no tags left on anything from that shopping trip!

Working with Meredeth has literally changed how I feel about myself. I went from looking and feeling like a dowdy working mom of two small children to looking and feeling like a professional woman. Instead of choosing clothes solely on how easy it might be to remove jelly or milk stains, I can now choose easy-to-care-for clothes that also flatter my body shape. I know it’s not part of the fall update I paid for but it made life SO much easier during this busy season to get that email from you with the suggestions for a messenger bag *for* my husband and earrings *from* my husband. I’m sure he feels relieved to have your input on a present for me. And I still get to be surprised :). Sort of. He always gets so stressed out that I won’t like when he picks.
