While not particularly sexy, these are products I use personally and in my work, and are perfect for practical gifting. I encourage shopping at a local business if possible, but for those of you needing to shop online, click on pictures to go to product page on Amazon.com.

Victorinox Swiss Army Jetsetter 3 Pocket Knife // $17.57

I carry this little gadget for the small scissors, tweezers, and toothpick (still haven’t found a real world need for the screwdriver, wire stripper, and bottle opener). Clients and friends alike are impressed when I whip this out to cut hanging threads, safely removing tags from purchases, and of course it never hurts to have some tweezers and toothpick at the ready. TSA friendly, so I can have it with me always.

Kleen Quickstep Shoe Shine Sponge // $8.99
I got turned on to this when living in Italy (it was called Magic Sponge) and now I always have one in the house and in my suitcase when traveling. While this doesn’t replace actual shoe polish, it is great for a last minute swipe on your way out the door to make your slightly scuffed shoes look fresh.

Conair Fabric Defuzzer // $12.99
Renew your sweaters! This is an effective and safe way to remove pilling and add new life to  sweaters and jackets. This particular model even comes in fun colors.

Tide Stain Remover Pen // $9.89 (3-pack)
Got a spiller in your life? Here’s another staple I always have with me and is often appreciated by those in need. This Tide Pen really does the job! Occasionally a stain will not come out completely immediately, but this will help keep it from setting until you can get to a washer.
